farr has a diverse catalogue, with three well-received releases on turbo as well as records with dsnt, leisure system and power vacuum. few producers can claim to have remixed tiga and been remixed by truss.
though farr has an extensive history with bloc., this will be his first outing on the label, a release that incorporates sounds that both bloc and joe are famed for.
the first track, “rpm” features prominently in the bloc festival trailer and is the soundtrack to the 2016 weekender. hissing high hats and an atmospheric baseline quickly develop into an explosive anthem designed to get feet moving. “rolling and thatching” conveys an immediate punch of 90’s acid, followed by techno heavy “workout three” with crunching beats and an unremitting delivery worthy of the berghain dance floor.

liam blackburn s transformative night of visions lp as ancestral voices forged a bold new sonic identity for an influential figure on the electronic music scene. from his groundbreaking work as indigo and onto the success of akkord s hybrid electronic melting pot (with synkro), the quest for forward movement is intrinsic to everything liam produces. to further celebrate the night of visions lp release, we asked some of our favourite producers to reconstruct some of night of visions highlights in their own style. each remixer chose their own track from night of visions to work with. the first name on our remix list was swedish producer and northern electronics label head - abdulla rashim. choosing invocations , his remix focuses on the hypnotic power of the original, turning the tune into a golden loop with subtle kick drum stabs, sweeping percussion and a dangling tension that hangs through the entire 7.33 minutes. asc & sam kdc chose feathered serpent and using just touches of the original tune have masterfully built an all new backbone that demonstrates clearly the ability of the grey area sound to work at 2 different tempo s and weld together with straight techno.

jamal moss aka hieroglyphic being veröffentlicht sein lang erwartetes soloalbum “the discos of imhotep” auf technicolour/ninja tune! jamal moss hat sich einen einwandfreien ruf als produzent sowie als live-performer von hypnotisierendem, experimentellem elektro und free jazz aufgebaut, der in seiner heimat chicago und seinen beziehungen zur schöpferischen underground club-szene wurzelt. inspiriert durch ron trent, dj rush und ron hardy, wurde jamal moss von den visionären und produzenten steve poindexter und adonis ausgebildet. diese brachten ihm die drum machines näher, die das rückgrat der bewegung waren und ihn zu seinen frühen streifzügen durch die musikproduktion ermutigten. seitdem veröffentlicht er fleißig über sein eigenes label mathematics recordings sowie labels wie rvng intl. und soul jazz / sotu. seine stellung, als unverwechselbare, kreative kraft, verfestigte moss auch durch seine zusammenarbeit mit marshall allen von sun ra arkestra und noleian reusse (als africans with mainframes). unverwechselbar ist auch seine art, musik zu machen: er vereint seine antike herkunft und musikalische dna mit einer leidenschaft zum experimentieren, erschaffen und setzt musik als heilmittel ein.
